Response time

How long a website takes to answer a request, measured in milliseconds or seconds.

A site can be up and still feel broken if pages take many seconds to answer. Compare a site with its own history rather than with other sites, since a large store and a small brochure site have different normal speeds. A rising trend is an early warning.
